“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?”
— Matthew 6:25 (KJV)
Back in the day, this statement was 100% true, and I still believe that anything coming from the mouth of Yeshua is eternally true in ways that transcend our limited ways of thinking. But I also believe we need to understand what he said through the lens of our times. And sadly, from a practical point of view, what he said about food is only mostly true.
Because in Biblical times, everything that people called food was actually… food. Real, nutrient-dense, life-giving nourishment. Not the highly processed, glyphosate-soaked, seed oil-laced stuff lining supermarket shelves today.
Now, unless we do take thought of what we eat, we risk severely shortening our lifespans—and worse, we risk spending our lives in a state far below the quality Mother-Father God intended for us to experience.
Sunlight, Stillness and… Steak? A Holiday Health Reset
Welcome to the holiday edition of the Angelorum Substack newsletter! 🌞
Those of you who regularly visit my site may have noticed it's been quiet this week. That’s because I’ve been quietly and intentionally not writing. Instead, I’ve been focused on reclaiming my health and resetting my Mind-Body-Spirit (MBS) compass.
Here in the North of England, we’ve been blessed with a streak of hot, sunny weather, so I’ve spent as much time as possible outdoors—pottering in the garden, walking, grounding, and doing my strength workouts on the lawn. It’s been a full-body exhale after months of pressure, and I finally had the space to listen to my body, my intuition, and yes, my ancestors.
So… why food? And why now?
Good question. Yeshua said not to worry about it.
But let’s be honest. We live in a time where food intolerances are skyrocketing, chronic illness is the norm, and only a tiny fraction of the population could be considered metabolically fit. The food system has been hijacked. And the same corporations pushing ultra-processed "food" also conveniently own the dieting franchises designed to keep us spinning on the hamster wheel of barely surviving, not thriving.
I’ve spent my life battling gut health issues, food intolerances, and yo-yo dieting. From counting calories in the 80s to veganism and everything in between, I've tried all the “healthy” diets (and the fads). It wasn’t until 2019, while dabbling with the Fast 800 diet, that I stumbled upon keto—and boom. Lightbulb moment. ✨
That’s when I finally got it: real metabolic health isn’t about willpower or counting points—it’s about cellular repair, energy regulation, and removing what’s harming us.
Healing Through Simplicity: From Keto to Carnivore
Back then, I was 20 pounds heavier than I am now. I suffered from asthma, allergies, joint pain, mood swings, IBS/Crohn's, severe perimenopausal symptoms—the whole glorious buffet. Keto helped… but it was carnivore that changed everything.
And I mean that literally. My asthma—something I’d had since age 10—vanished. Just like that. No more inhalers after 20+ years.
So… why didn’t I stick with it?
Ah. That’s a two-parter:
Programming. After years of vegetarian and vegan living, I still had subconscious beliefs that animal-based eating was somehow "less spiritual." (Sound familiar?)
Reintroduction too soon. I hadn’t given my gut the time it needed to truly heal. I jumped the gun.
This summer, I finally hit pause and asked: what do I really need to thrive—spiritually, physically, emotionally? And that’s when my Saami ancestors showed up. Loud and proud.
They reminded me that they lived close to the land, in harmony with Spirit, eating mostly meat—reindeer, fish, and the occasional bear. Their carbs? A few berries… seasonally. That was it.
No quinoa. No oat milk lattes. Just deep listening, reverence, and animal-based wisdom.
Integrating Spirituality and Eating: The Meat-Based Mystic Is Born
All of this has led me to finally integrate my spiritual path with the way I nourish my body. And as always, my instinct is to share what I learn in case it resonates with you.
So I’ve launched a new blog:

Tarot Journaling Prompts for MBS Food Wisdom
If you're at a crossroads with food or healing and want to explore your path more intuitively, these prompts are here to help you align with your own MBS truth:
You can pull a card for each question, or simply let them guide your journaling. Feel free to share any insights you receive. I love hearing how the cards speak to you!
It’s Not About the Meat—It’s About the Message
I’m not here to convert everyone to eating meat or following any one diet dogma.
I am here to empower you to find a way of eating that is both science-backed and intuitively aligned with your soul’s path.
Food alone won’t solve every issue. Sleep, stress, movement, light, love, meditation—they all matter. But for me, food was the piece I’d been missing for years. Once it clicked, everything else began falling into place. It’s safe to say I’m still on the journey toward total health and well-being, but now I have a couple of very helpful fitness and ketogenic nutrition certificates under my belt, to add to the dance teacher + physiotherapy studies of my youth.
If you’ve found some food for thought here (pun gleefully intended), please give this post a like 💗 and leave a comment—I’d love to hear how you’re approaching MBS healing through nourishment.
Wishing you a belly-happy and Spirit-aligned week ahead,
Lisa
