Rose Priestess Notes from the Eclipse Threshold
Why I’m choosing the Middle Path now
I'm not going into detail about the past week, but most of us, yes, even those of us who no longer actively watch 'The Noose,' haven't been able to avoid certain gruesome events and the division they amplified and set in motion.
This is the time to take a long, hard look at where we are divided within ourselves, because "as within, so without." The world around us reflects our inner tension, prejudices, bigotry, and self-judgment. Now is NOT the time to start pointing a finger. When has that ever helped a situation?
It's time for humanity to grow the f*ck up. So yeah, Eclipse season 2025 is brutal, but, as always, it is happening for us, not to us. I have spent less time on social media to make the most of the 'for us' bit and to try to understand my own lingering inner tension and lack of acceptance of how things are. After all, it's this lack of acceptance that is the root of dis-ease.
I quickly concluded that I had some healing left to do around my combined witch/mother wound. My dad used to refer to both my mother and my maternal grandmother as witches (not in the good, wholesome sense), so it's easy to see how the two are linked in my case, but I believe those wounds are linked for most of us in one way or another.
A little over a year ago, I wrote a post about walking a Christo-Hekatean Middle Path. Back then, I could sketch the map, but I hadn’t yet walked it with both feet. This week tipped me over the threshold. After a very ordinary moment of house-cleaning turned into a not-at-all-ordinary dialogue with Hekate, I went back and rewrote the piece through a Chaldean lens and added a brand-new spread to actually work the path rather than just admire it.

Why the rewrite now? Because “two lights, one crossing” is how I’m choosing to meet this season. For me, committing to the Middle Path is part of Tikkun Olam—mending what’s torn in the world by tending what’s torn within. As a Rose Priestess, my job is to keep the heart soft and the gate clean: grace in the centre, good craft at the threshold. We simply can’t afford paths that split us into hostile camps anymore. Keys and torches, not pitchforks.
