Dear Soul Family,
It’s not every day one falls back in love with a 17th-century German shoemaker… but here we are.
Lately, I’ve been diving into the mystical teachings of Jacob Boehme, thanks in no small part to my journey with the Tarot of the Holy Light. This deck and its two companion volumes draw richly from Boehme’s theosophical system, weaving celestial correspondences and Christian mysticism into a visually dense, alchemical experience. Working with it has awakened a passion to learn more about Boehme’s Sophia—Divine Wisdom herself—and her radiant role in the unfolding of spiritual consciousness.
🌹 Sophia: Divine Wisdom, Feminine Light
For Boehme, Sophia is the divine feminine principle essential to the Trinity. She is radiant intelligence, the bridge between the transcendent and the manifest. Sophia is the very breath of heavenly wisdom, present in all things, though often hidden beneath the veil of material existence.
Boehme’s bold metaphysical step was to separate Sophia from Christ, not in opposition, but in complement. Where Christ represents the redeeming Logos, Sophia is the illuminating Presence: the mediator between the eternal Divine and our embodied reality. Though not part of the Holy Trinity, Sophia is the divine feminine principle that enables spiritual regeneration.
This mystical understanding of the feminine continues to resonate in theology today, finding expression in Russian Sophiology (notably Vladimir Solovyov and Sergei Bulgakov), feminist spirituality, and even the contemporary Goddess movement.
🔥 The Age of the Holy Spirit (and Why It Matters Now)
Boehme’s teachings also align with a deeper spiritual unfolding—the Age of the Holy Spirit. Building on ideas from Joachim of Fiore, Boehme envisioned a time when divine guidance would no longer rely on external authority alone but would be poured directly into the hearts of humanity through the Spirit. This Age is one of inner awakening, direct knowing, and radical communion with the Divine.
In Boehme’s cosmology, the Holy Spirit is not only active and creative—it is also deeply relational, guiding us back into union with Sophia’s wisdom. And when you look around at today’s spiritual landscape—with its decentralised movements, intuitive mysticism, and hunger for wholeness—it feels like Boehme’s (and Fiore’s) prophecy is knocking rather loudly.
🕊 Christ the Logos and the Solstice Mystery
In Boehme’s mystical theology, Christ is the eternal Logos—the divine heart or centre from which creation arises. Though Boehme doesn’t use the later Theosophical term “Solar Logos,” his description of Christ as the radiant image of God, the pattern of divine light and will, aligns closely with that concept.
It’s with this Christic current in mind that I created the Summer Solstice Christ-Light Activation Tarot Pick-a-Pile Reading. The Solstice marks a cosmic moment of illumination—a perfect metaphor for the inner awakening Christ brings when we open to the wisdom of Holy Sophia.
Each of the three readings offers insight into how this Logos light may be awakening truth, purpose, and transformation on your path right now.
🃏 Christo-Sophianic Tarot in Practice
If you’re new to Christo-Sophianic Tarot or curious how this lens differs from other approaches, I’ve also shared some practical tips for staying aligned with the Highest Good. These are heart-centred tips for grounding your readings in divine truth and love, for soul alchemy rather than fortune-telling.
A Christo-Sophianic practice is where the Tarot becomes a sacred library of 78 icons and Sophia breathes her wisdom into the Arcana.

🔆 Christ & Sophia Summer Solstice Spread
A 6-card Tarot journey of divine light, inner wisdom, and sacred transformation
This spread draws from Jacob Boehme’s mysticism and the solar magic of Litha. At the Summer Solstice, when the sun is at its zenith, we stand in a moment of both radiant fullness and the first whisper of returning darkness. It is a time to pause, integrate, and receive both Christ’s illuminating Logos and Sophia’s whispering wisdom.
🃏 The Six Cards
1. Christ-Light – What is being fully illuminated in me now?
Like the sun at its peak, this card reveals what the divine Logos is exposing in the light of truth—something ready to be seen clearly and honestly.
2. Sophia’s Whisper – What sacred wisdom is quietly taking root?
Here we listen for the feminine counterpoint: the soft, interior knowing of Sophia. What’s not obvious, but present? What’s gestating beneath the light?
3. The Zenith – What gifts or qualities have reached their fullness?
A nod to the solstice’s height. What in you has ripened? Where can you celebrate mastery, confidence, joy, or inner radiance?
4. The Turning Point – What now begins to wane or transform?
The solstice also marks a shift. What is completing, fading, or calling for sacred surrender?
5. The Inner Alchemy – How are Christ and Sophia co-creating within me?
This is the heart of the spread: where light and wisdom dance. How is your inner union unfolding? What is being born from their embrace?
6. The Sacred Flame – How can I embody divine love and share my light?
This final card grounds the mystical in the practical. How are you called to radiate truth and compassion into the world this season?
💘 We're Ending on a Lighter (and More Romantic) Note...
After all that divine alchemy and inner fire, it feels only right to finish with something that relates more to earthly love (though not ruling out the possibility of Sacred Union).
I've recently republished a classic Love Dove Tarot spread from the archives: “Changing You, Changing Me”. I dusted this one off because it gave me such powerful insight in a recent reading, even after 11 years! It’s designed for couples (or conscious uncouplers) who want to explore how their energies are evolving and influencing each other.
Whether you're deep in the honeymoon phase or quietly plotting your escape route, this spread offers clarity with compassion. And maybe a touch of cosmic humour.

Beautiful deck. Thanks for this. My mind has been mulling along these lines....
It's wild how on Father's Day you mention Jacob Boehme. M grandfather's name was Jacob, and he was a shoemaker.
